The Austrian National Conference on Microelectronics and Embedded Systems
    October 6, 2005 in Vienna

The traditional annual meeting "Austrochip" is a platform to present the latest activities in the field of integrated circuits and microelectronic systems in Austria and its neighboring countries. Furthermore it understands itself as a forum for discussion and contact between academia and industry and will this year be held for the thirteenths time. To take the development of complex electronic systems apart from integrated circuits into account as well, this year's conference topic was extended to embedded systems.

The program of the Austrochip 2005 conference is made up of invited talks, presentations of received contributions, as well as a panel discussion with distinguished speakers from both academia and industry. The planned panel discussion is a novum of this year's Austrochip conference and will deal with the topic "Legal protection or disclosure of intellectual property - Which strategy leads to success?"

    ASIC Design Contest 2005

austriamicrosystems, Unterpremstätten, the Institute for Electronics at the Graz University of Technology and the Institute of Computer Technology at the Vienna University of Technology are pleased to relaunch an ASIC design contest in context to the Austrochip 2005 conference. Students of relevant faculties are invited to design their own application-specific circuit (ASIC) which will be manufactured by austriamicrosystems if the submitted project was accepted by the selection committee.

The Autrochip conference is organized by the five academic institutions shown below. This years conference chair is held by the Institute of Computer Technology at the Vienna University of Technology.

    • Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications, Graz University of Technology

    • Institute of Computer Technology, Vienna University of Technology
