For this year's edition of Austrochip, we now can proudly announce our keynote speaker, Gerhard Kahmen of the Leibniz Institute for high performance Microelectronics (IHP) and the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU). In his address, "Microelectronics – Quo Vadis?" he will talk about the historic development of CMOS and how the increasing complexity of CMOS shrinking is complemented with orthogonal technologies and functional modules with BiCMOS, SI-photonics, and RRAM devices to further increase the performance and functionality.
Another highlight of the Austrochip 2021 conference will also be a premiere in the Austrochip-conferences history: We invited Matthew Venn, CSO of YosysHQ GmbH and already well known for his efforts in the open source IC community, and he will give a Tutorial on "IC design using open source tools". In this tutorial, he will take a look at the current state of the open source EDA tooling and then use them to build a small demonstration chip, which will be prepared for fabrication on Skywater's 130nm process.

Finally, We proudly present the accepted submissions to the Austrochip 2021 conference. You can find the topics and the speakers on the Program page.
